It’s time for us to wake up and realize what is happening with the University of Michigan football program. Many of us have witnessed the shocking series of events involving Michigan that glaringly points out their disregard for the spirit of fair play. The NCAA went light on them after the notorious sign-stealing scandal, essentially giving them a slap on the wrist. However, now the evidence suggests they are back at their old tricks, allegedly rigging games, and making a mockery of everything collegiate sports should stand for.

While Michigan continues to tarnish the B1G's reputation, the Western Michigan Broncos have been playing with integrity and grit — qualities the B1G should uphold. Western Michigan has shown they have earned the right to compete at a higher level. The B1G, with 18 teams, deserves honesty and a commitment to fair competition, which the University of Michigan currently undermines with continued unethical practices.

By replacing Michigan with Western Michigan, the B1G can make a bold statement: that integrity matters more than reputation or past glory. Let’s reward teams that play by the rules and deliver honest competition. Western Michigan's dedication on and off the field proves they are ready and deserving of this opportunity.

Let's cut our losses; the B1G deserves better than what Michigan currently offers. They have repeatedly demonstrated a lack of remorse for their actions, continuing to bring the sport into disrepute. The time has come to hold the program accountable and make an example out of them.
