Since 2015 KFC (Kentucky Fried Chicken) has promoted their product through a series of celebrities portraying the face of their company, Colonel Harland David Sanders. The 13 choices have ranged from comedians who are similar in appearance to the Colonel (Darrell Hammond, Jim Gaffigan, Norm McDonald) to the outrageous and ironic (Reba McEntire, Ray Liotta).
As you begin to consider to the next face of your brand, we the undersigned ask that you look at one actor and one actor only; Scottish born actor Rory McCann. Yes, we are aware that going across the pond to find the face of a very American company is a bit of a stretch but please hear us out.
This man is right now best known for playing the character of Sandor "The Hound" Clegane on the HBO series Game of Thrones. While there are many things fans of this show cannot agree on (who should sit on the Iron Throne, is a Wildling, a Knight, or a hound the best for Brienne, and Jon Snow in love with his Aunt, Sister, or Enemy) once thing we can agree on is that The Hound loves his chicken. His character will do anything for the sweet-savory taste of chicken, he is even been known to have two chickens in one sitting. It is even possible that this man beat the odds and came back from the brink of death, all for the love of chicken. This man lives by a moral could that there is nothing more worth dying for then chicken.
You may now be asking yourself; why would we consider a medieval character to sell our modern product. No one is going to make that connection. Well, you are wrong. Many there are many fans who have begun the "shipping" the Hound and chicken. Some fans now even believe that Game of Thrones will not end in a fiery blaze, or the coming together of ice and fire to bring the prince who was promised. No, the true end game of this series is this simple man's love of chicken.
Do not worry, Rory Mccann is already proven to be a great brand spokesperson, and Jimmy Kimmel has even explored what a commercial would look like. So please, when casting your next Colonel Sanders please consider Rory.
