This is for all the boys and girls who have been taken advantage of by adult men and women. Things have got to change so that those who have been taken advantage of can receive justice.

People like Mr. Alexander Sweet of Tulsa, Oklahoma take advantage of the current law for age of consent by preying on young 16 year old girls, while he is in his late 20's. There are so many more out there like this individual that need to be stopped. As someone who has been taken advantage of by older men (at 16 years of age and younger) who are STILL at large because of this law, I do NOT stand for this and if we need to change the law to make sure predators are held accountable, we need to do so. I am certain that the majority of Tulsa (and Oklahoma in general) agree with me. These individuals have been slipping through the cracks legally BECAUSE of the age of consent law. At 16 years old, you are still a child. You still attend school. You cannot vote, you cannot sign up for the army. If we are not trusted at 16 to vote on our rights or make a responsible decision about our career paths (ie: fighting for our country), how can we trust 16 year old's to make sound decisions about relationships/sex? 16 year old's don't get  the voice they so deserve at that age. If they cant vote on this matter, why make it legal for an adult to take advantage of them? How is it fair or lawful that at 16, with no real knowledge of consent and safe sex communication (aside from the Internet, which is NOT a good source and personal experience) they are being exposed to adults that have been cultivating grooming methods the child may not fully understand at 16? Please show your support for these young girls AND boys by signing this petition! They deserve better than what our state is providing them. One monster off the streets, many more to go! Stand with me in bringing predators to justice, we aren’t done yet!
