Pittsburg county animal shelter has a 70% euthanasia rate,meaning only 30 percent of their animals that are either surrendered or brought in are making it out alive! Why you ask? SANDRA HEFLEY, this is the director. Sandra is receiving "hardship" bonus with each animal she murders. SANDRA has almost shut every rescue and volunteer organization out so that the animals have no fighting chance! This story gets worse, she is lying to people that call in and request adoption information by telling the public that a dog has been adopted ,to only find out that the dog is later euthanized! The most recent soul to fall victim was named Bear. Bear was listed as urgent , he was very depressed and scared as he was a older dog.We called Wednesday September 3rd to adopt him,an employee of the shelter informed us he had been adopted so we celebrated that he found his potential forever home. What we thought was a perfect ending unfolded into a nightmare! Bear was killed later that day , they recorded him as being "aggressive" but an employee has spoken out and said that is not the case at all and Sandra is known for making false accusations regularly! This is disgusting! Volunteers have been working non stop to get this woman out of the position she is in,so that these animals have a fighting chance!
