Animal Care Education In Schools

The Issue

According to many animal control officers, the primary cause of animal abuse and neglect is owner ignorance. There is a surprising lack of awareness of the importance regarding spaying and neutering, proper shelter, sufficient food and water supply, how to detect illness and bring pets to veterinary care.

We are proposing a new law to add animal care classes in all elementary school education plans. Simply teaching children basic and proper care of cats, dogs and other pets will encourage them to share the knowledge with their families and improve treatment and appreciation of their animals. The ultimate goal is to eliminate shelter population and euthanasia of millions of healthy animals.

Let the children be our best animal advocates of the future!
