Spider-Man became a main and leading character  in the MCU's storyline, he also played a significant role in the past, and disconnecting him from this unvierse feels wrong. The franchise itself has never been as successful and popular as it has been recently with the collaboration of Sony and Marvel Studios, and it's with this collaboration that the characters and stories have been given the best adaptation possible, separating the two would be harmful for the companies and fans alike.
