“Backstabber" serves as the ninth track on Kesha's debut album Animal and the music video for the song was filmed on September 20, 2009. Backstabber was set to be the second single off of Animal but was scrapped in favor of "Blah Blah Blah". On September 9, 2011, Perez Hilton leaked a very low quality version of the music video.

With the song currently trending on TikTok, Backstabber has become Kesha’s 5th most popular song on Spotify. It’s resurgence is undeniable.
