Online school is not for everyone. We can all agree on that, so why is it that students are being forced to learn online if it’s not the most efficient way for students to learn. I thought that KHSD focused on trying to make every student succeed, but how can they succeed if they can’t even learn online. Every student is different some need more time, others can do assignments quickly and it’s great for them. But why are teachers increasing the amount of homework to student? Just because they are home does not mean they have more time. Some students have to worry with the constant fear of getting Covid-19 because their parents work near a lot of people and have an increased chance of contracting the virus or some students parents or guardians lost their job due to the pandemic . So while students already have to deal with the stress of the virus and wondering where their next meal is going to come from, they also have to deal with the stress of school and the work that their teachers assign to them. It is not fair for students to have to sit in front of a computer for 1 1/2 hours for every class just so that the teacher assigns more and more work while they don’t teach to the extent that they could. Students need to learn and not just be assigned loads of homework. Students don’t need to be overwhelmed with work because it is a new reality for all of us. A way that teachers can help us all is by extending our due dates for assignments and assigning less work to us the students. We hope you take out our considerations- KHSD students.
