Our community seems to have a problem with understanding how to treat animals. Our shelters are full because people think animals are disposable, there is not a day that goes by that you don't see loose animals on the streets and then the most crucial issue of neglect/abuse. A lot of people do not seem to understand what it means to own a pet and the responsibility that comes along with that. They don't spay/neuter the animals, they don't license, microchip or even put tags on them, lots let them roam the neighborhood freely, and then a few neglect or abuse these poor creatures.

Recently a woman was caught on video kicking a small yorkie (Lucky) about 8 times, including 1 to the face and even though she did get arrested, she was allowed to keep this poor defenseless dog.  This woman needs more than just a slap on the wrist or our community is basically being told that this is acceptable behavior. A yorkie is equivalent in size to an infant...and if this same abuse had been to an infant, it would not be dismissed.  

I'm petitioning for this woman to have to surrender her dog and be given the max punishment possible for her crime to show the community that pets lives matter!
