Cameron Highlands is a unique place with its natural flora and fauna. It is unlike any other constituency in Malaysia; it is not only home to hundreds of floral species that are rare to the tropics,but it is also an area with a substantially different ecosystem.

Recent years, there has been a lot of deforestation happened throughout Cameron Highlands which caused massive land clearing, landslides, rising in temperature and loss of natural habitat for animals and plants species. 

According to press release by EdgeProp.my, latest development to date by Sim Leisure Group and its partnership with Hektar Muda Sdn Bhd, to develop a theme park Cameron Highlands. The theme park development called ESCAPE Cameron Highlands is sited on a 60-acre plot with an elevation of 220m in Habu,Cameron Highlands. 

This development would require massive forest clearance which impacts our natural ecosystems in Cameron Highlands. 

We, the local residents of Cameron Highlands urged State Government of Pahang, Department of Environment to not allowed this ESCAPE-THEMED PARK project to go ahead. We want to preserve our Cameron Highlands ecosystem as it is for our future generation. We must act NOW!
