We Kenyans are sick and tired of our government borrowing loans from the IMF and other international lenders, only for the money to be stolen and squandered by a few individuals at the top of the societal pyramid.
Our national debt is already too much and will probably take centuries to pay and the government is still taking loans. We are fed up. Enough is enough. No more loans for Kenya.
Let us focus on the loans we have already taken which are already breaking our backs. Fuel prices have been going high and consequently the cost of living, all while people in several counties are under lockdown.
Many have lost their jobs and the government is not offering stimulus packages or anything to mitigate the damage. This same government has the audacity to keep taking loans that the citizens will pay, despite barely profiting from the loans.
We can't be living on international loans that are not even properly put to use. Despite all the financial grants and loans accorded to our country during the pandemic, there is still a shortage of equipment and citizens have to pay for testing with their own money and pay for treatment.
Taking more loans is digging deeper and deeper into the hole Kenya is in which is why we are fed up. No more loans for Kenya!
May this petition get enough signatures and get forwarded directly to the IMF and any other entity concerned, via the appropriate protocols.
