Save the iconic fig tree at the current location in Westlands, Kenya.

The iconic fig tree has been in the said location for over a decade on the junction pf Mpaka road and Chiromo Way, Westlands area. The tree provides aesthetic value to the area including providing a home to birds and insects and remains the landmark physical feature for Westlands.
But with the advancement in the infrastructural development of the construction of the proposed Nairobi Expressway connecting Jomo Kenya International Airport and James Gichuru Road, the Government of Kenya through its agency - Kenya National Highways Authority (KeNHA) is said to uproot, relocate and transplant the iconic fig tree in an undisclosed New location.
We want to say NO to the move by the Government of Kenya through its agency Kenya National Highways Authority and the Government of Kenya both National and County. We shouldn't allow for so-called 'modern development' to affect our environmental heritage such as the iconic fig tree in the Westlands area. This is our national heritage that has naturally located itself there.
We petition the National Government and Nairobi City County to vacate the decision to move the iconic fig tree. Let development conform to the environmental heritage.
