Why this petition matters

21-year-old Demonjhea Jordan, was shot and killed in Louisville Kentucky April 24th 2018.
He was a suspect of a robbery that took place at the Metro PCS on 26th and Market Street. Police officers Joshua Weyer, Benjamin Dean, Kody Despain and Joseph Fox were present as one of the officers stopped Jordan on 28thand St. Xavier Street, as he fit the description of the suspect. Immediately shots were fired, In the report filed by the officers, Jordan allegedly was carrying a weapon and shots were exchanged. Later body cam footage was released showing that in Jordan’s hands was what appeared to be a red piece of clothing. He did have a weapon was not given the opportunity to drop it before Police fired their weapons. He was shot a total of 20 times. After being shot Jordan was IMMEDIATELY placed in handcuffs.
The involved offices did NOT check Jordan’s injury’s before detaining him. He later died in Louisville University Hospital. THIS MAN DESERVES JUSTICE. THESE OFFICERS NEED TO BE ARRESTED. THIS MAN SHOULD NOT HAVE LOST HIS LIFE DUE TO SUSPICION. HE COULD HAVE MADE A BAD CHOICE BUT SHOULD NOT HAVE COST HIM HIS LIFE. THIS IS A CASE OF EXCESSIVE FORCE USED ON ANOTHER BLACK MAN. THIS CASE HAS BEEN SWEEPED UNDER THE RUG AND WE WILL NOT LET HIM HIE IN VAIN. SAY HIS NAME DEMONJHEA JORDAN! GIVE HIM AND HIS FAMILY THE JUSTICE THEY DESERVE !
