Animal Abuse Laws: More Strict and More Harsh

Animal Abuse Laws: More Strict and More Harsh

The Issue

Animal abuse, neglect and murder run rampant in Kentucky, especially in areas where people are less educated and are facing difficulties such as poverty, storm damage, etc. A woman let her dog starve to death while she was locked in a crate next to a bag of dog food. The woman received sixty days of house arrest. She was still able to work. Stories like these are a weekly affair.

Stricter animal abuse laws in Kentucky would not only make animal abusers face the realities of what they did, but would prevent many crimes in the first place. Stricter laws would also force the Kentucky State Government to provide more man power for animal rescue and control. Kentucky is a beautiful place with many good people, but "The greatness of a nation and its moral progress can be judged by the way its animals are treated." (Mahatma Gandhi) Our nation is not great until every state abides by these words.

Sign this petition to change the lives of dogs, cats, horses, and to help many others who are already fighting for the animals in the great state of Kentucky.
