Support The Gatewood Galbraith Medical Marijuana Memorial Act (BR 55)
Support The Gatewood Galbraith Medical Marijuana Memorial Act (BR 55)
The Issue
Kentucky State Senator Perry Clark has introduced BR 55, The Gatewood Galbraith Medical Marijuana Memorial Act, for the 2013 legislative agenda.
We ask that you support this bill, as 17 states including the District of Columbia have done. Patients deserve a full range of potential therapies for the medical conditions in which they may suffer, and physicians should be capable to decide if the therapeutic effects of these treatments are right for their patients specific conditions. Various research has found beneficial medical effects of this therapy for patients suffering from a range of disorders including cancer, HIV & AIDs, glaucoma, chronic pain and the nausea/vomiting and wasting associated with chemotherapy.
Seventeen states have also found this measure one which generates both jobs and tax revenue for the state and it's cities, making this measure one which generates positive impacts for Kentuckians outside the realm of health care alone. Colorado recieved more than $5 Million in tax revenue from it's medicinal treatment measures.
As a citizen of this Commonwealth and thus, your constituent, I support pre-filed legislation BR-55 (Senate). As my elected representation I ask that you support this important legislation and use your political influence to advance this legislation in the both the House and Senate.
