Due to the COVID-19 outbreak, our senior year was stripped away from us. This includes one of the biggest events I know every student looks forward to throughout their four years of exams, studying, lectures, and tears, graduation. Sometimes this was our only motivation to finish that paper, to pull that all-nighter so you can get an A, or to get up at the crack of dawn for class or clinical. The hours of hard work put in these last four years cannot go unnoticed and devalued by a virtual graduation like some colleges have talked about. We DESERVE a proper send off, even if that is in August or the fall. The students deserve to be recognized and have that opportunity to walk the stage like every other graduating student has done. This is the Kent State University Class of 2020 asking our University to allow us to experience this one and only piece of senior year we have all been looking forward to since we moved into our freshman year dorm four years ago. Don’t forget about us in midst of events happening, we are hurting too.
