No more German Shepherds with sloping backs!

No more German Shepherds with sloping backs!
The Issue
This well loved loyal breed is being run into the ground and it is time for us to make a stand!!
From its original form, German Shepherds have changed from a working, athletic breed into a caricature of the KC Breed Standard.
The Kennel Club standard states.....
General Appearance
Slightly long in comparison to height; of powerful, well muscled build with weather-resistant coat. Relation between height, length, position and structure of fore and hindquarters (angulation) producing far-reaching, enduring gait. Clear definition of masculinity and femininity essential, and working ability never sacrificed for mere beauty.
This standard is being taken to its absolute extreme by judges awarding prizes to dogs which show this "angulation" however there are clear implications to the dogs "working ability" and as a result leading to serious heath issues and a poor quality of life.
These dogs are bred to win shows and are suffering hugely as a direct consequence of meeting these KC standards.
www.goodbreedhealth.com state...The show type GSD sometimes has a steeply sloping back and very angulated hind quarters. There is concern that this may lead to orthopaedic complications.
Videos such as this show the extent of this problem... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_Nm0yGPHkvw
Research into proving the level of damage done to both the breed and the individual dog is limited as there seems to be allot of time and money invested in to dogs with sloping backs.
An ounce of common sense would lead anyone to the conclusion that the top wining show dogs with sloping backs are incapable being a good ambassador of the German Shepherd who was intended to be a fit agile working breed.
Help us save this breed and return this noble, loyal dog back to its working roots.
