Bring "My Bedbugs" Back in Circulation!

The Issue

My Bedbugs was a show created by Alex J. Greene and his wife Carol Sweeney that taught kids good bedtime habits and other good morals. It starred three colorful bedbug children named Gooby, Toofy, and Woozy. Supporting characters include a talking pillow named Snoozy, a vacuum cleaner and guardian named J. Edgar, and their pet goldfish named Ruffy. It was very successful on PBS in Michigan along with other parts of the US and Canada. It also once beat Barney in ratings (and almost Sesame Street.)  Due to financial troubles Greenestuff (the original series creators' company) was facing around the time, the rights were sold in 2009 and the characters were changed to the Oogieloves which in turn caused the show to be removed from more than 100 million households across the US and Canada. A movie based on these new incarnations was filmed that very same year and didn't release until 3 years later. That film did poorly in the box office and was very dumbed down compared to the original My Bedbugs series that was used as a basis. What I plan to do with this petition is to get the new owners' attention and try to convince them to rerelease the original series either through syndication or through streaming services. A lot of the original fans of the series (myself included) are starting to reach their early 20's and would love to see new generations grow up with and love the show the same way we did.
