We have been loyal Citi customers for years, and many of us hold multiple Citi accounts. We are Citi fans, who applaud the gains you’ve made adding valuable transfer partners and redemption options to the ThankYou program, and we strongly advocate for your products and the Citi ThankYou program among friends, many of whom come to us for credit-building advice.

So you can imagine our surprise to hear that you've decided its good business to eliminate the best benefit you provide, one that we’ve built our entire credit strategies around for years: 5x ThankYou points on restaurants and bookstores.

We can only assume that your decision to gut these benefits looked good on paper. But what those spreadsheets and P&L statements don’t show you is how this decision negatively impacts your relationship with your most loyal fans. Those of us with Citi Forward cards have been with you for the long haul. If anything, we'd expect you to value us and reward us even more for supporting you and advocating for you among our peers. But that is sadly not the case. Our reward is the slashing of benefits by 60%, to rewards rates that are no longer competitive. This is not good business.

We implore you to reconsider cutting the benefits of our Citi Forward cards. For many of us, the Forward card is the beating heart of our relationship with Citi. Without it, we'll have to reevaluate our entire credit relationship, likely moving to more competitive products outside Citi entirely.

You won’t just be losing customers, you’ll be losing most of your biggest fans. Please reconsider and reinstate 5x ThankYou points for our restaurant and bookstore purchases.
