Potash Export Facility proposal by BHP Billiton Canada

0 have signed. Let’s get to 100!

It is beyond conceivable that the new facility should be even considered at this location. Consider the number of families that have made their homes in Surrey, New Westminster, Queensborough. One would also wonder why the public notification has only appeared within the last few days, offering very little scope to object to this proposal.

Due to Potash requiring dry storage areas, surely one could question the sense in proposing to place such a facility right next to a river which floods reasonably often as seen at Fraser Basin Website.

Dust from the facility will be an issue despite many statements to the contrary, I am sure! Anyone in the general area with sensitive lungs will be affected. Potassium Chloride (KCl) is regarded as non-toxic, is used in fertilisers, as a table salt replacement and also ironically, as part of the lethal injection cocktail in death penalty cases in the USA.

Property values are sure to suffer if this facility is permitted.

Please sign this petition to block the proposed facility.

Thank you.
