America’s cherished wild horses are under grave threat of sterilization and slaughter, thanks to the President’s proposed 2017 Budget, which asks Congress to give the Bureau of Land Management (BLM) authority to:

Sterilize wild free-roaming horses on the range through barbaric surgical methods to remove the ovaries of female horses (mares) and by castrating stallions. This will destroy the very essence of what makes these animals wild and threaten their future existence in the West.

Slaughter captured wild horses by stripping them of their protected legal status and turning them over to state and local governments that advocate for mass mustang removals and slaughter.

With 50,000 captured wild horses and burros stockpiled in government holding facilities and just over 50,000 remaining in the wild, the threat to these iconic animals could not be more serious.

 Three out of four Americans support wild horse protection and 80 percent opposing horse slaughter… It’s time to make the voice of “We the People” heard!
