Cheap Chinese goods are imported daily to the uk in their tens of thousands to private individuals off the internet. They do not pay duty or vat and they are killing our high St shops who cannot compete with this deluge. We are not against Chinese imports that go through the proper channels and pay their duties. It’s the single sales that are causing problems and losing the UK government millions in duty. Both small & large companies are dying and we need to stop this. If the proper duty was paid, goods would not be so cheap that the public think it worth taking the risk. I run a bridal shop and belong to a group of bridal shops of over 400. Our businesses are being decimated and shops are closing weekly. To save the high St, please sign this petition!
