With the uprising of illegal street racing going on in Yavapai county I am Concerned about people's safety with street racing on the regular roads. It could lead to jail, property damage or worse fatalities along with many other things. There is a brand new racetrack with a 1/8 Mile and drift course already here in town. I believe if we were able to open it Friday and Saturday nights to allow the street racers on the track where they could be safe and monitored rather than be out in the streets would be much smarter and safer for everybody in the community. The track is currently owned by the ycso for a tactical training ground only used once a month or so. If granted all proceeds from Friday and Saturday nights entry fees would be going to the ycso sheriff's department to help pay for life-saving equipment along with maintenance and other needs they might have. I believe this would be a much smarter and safer route to let the track be open since it is currently never used Friday or Saturdays to allow the racers in for a safe environment for our community. The track has been there and was originally built for the community years ago but unfortunately was never opened we need to get it opened and keep our community safe.
