Just a quick list

We just thought, after a recent comment, we'd tell you some of the main products palm oil and the reasons why.

Palm oil is mostly in:

• Lipsticks- Because it keeps the lipstick's shape, colour and has no taste.
• Pizzas (in the dough)- Palm oil is in most fresh and frozen pizza doughs to stop it from being too sticky and to enhance texture.
• Instant noodles- In instant noodles, surprisingly, up to 20% of the weight of the pack is palm oil. It is used to precook the noodles so that all you need to do is add hot water.
• Shampoo- Palm oil is used in most shampoos as a conditioning agent to restore natural oils to the hair.
• Ice cream- To make it smooth and to give it a creamier taste.
• Chocolate- To give it a smooth and shiny appearance and to prevent it from melting.
• Soap- As palm oil is great at removing dirt from the skin and hair as well as being a great moisturizer.
• Bread- Because palm oil is cheap and stays solid at room temperature.
