Push for a proper investigation and provide justice for Kingston!

The Issue

Kingston, the pitbull terrier who was shot and killed and left on a trail in Yarmouth by his owners, deserves justice. The owner confessed to having her boyfriend shoot Kingston. She made a public post via social media admitting it was her dog, and claiming he was well loved, but had gone 'cross' starting two years earlier. The 'investigation' lasted less than a day and no charges were laid.

"Causing unnecessary suffering

  • 445.1 (1) Every one commits an offence who

    • (a) wilfully causes or, being the owner, wilfully permits to be caused unnecessary pain, suffering or injury to an animal or a bird;"

    • "(e) being the owner, occupier or person in charge of any premises, permits the premises or any part thereof to be used for a purpose mentioned in paragraph (d)." - Criminal Code of Canada, http://laws-lois.justice.gc.ca/eng/acts/c-46/page-206.html#h-120

This situation certainly appears to violate the Cruelty to Animals criminal code. I believe Kingston's death needs a proper investigation, he didn't kill himself and someone needs to be held accountable for his death. There are far too many resources available for this to ever be an option.

Please sign and share and help bring justice for Kingston, and show that NO ONE has the right to decide whether an animal deserves to live or die.
