Since Splitsville corporation has taken over the two bowling centres formerly known as "Let’s Bowl" and "YYC Bowling and Entertainment", league play and tournament bowlers have been neglected. We are not being provided with acceptable conditions for league play, such as CTF Sanctioned leagues lacking fresh oil and clean approaches. Oil is not only important for competition but also for the longevity and protection of the lane surface. Keeping approaches clean also keeps bowlers both fun and competitive safe and again increases the longevity of the lanes. Furthermore, we are being given fewer opportunities and space for tournament planning, despite both leagues and tournaments providing guaranteed lineage and weekly payments which also means extra revenue. It appears that Splitsville is unfamiliar with the needs of the bowling community, and it is our responsibility to express our concerns and wishes to the centres. Let us work together to keep the bowling community and The Sport of Bowling alive in Calgary!
