The Issue

Keizaal Online is an online roleplaying platform for modded Skyrim that allows players to become residents of Skyrim. Inside, they take on entirely new lives: adventurers, tavern owners, prospectors, even high ranking nobles and political officials.

Yung Jiit is a Khajiit bard in the realm performing originally composed music throughout the realm in a fast-paced rhyme schema (similar to modern day hip-hop). His lyrics are all hand-written and feature concepts and topics directly related to the world of Skyrim at large, even going so far as to use in-world terms in his songs.

He is also an extremely popular entertainer. He has performed on many stages across the realm and is well known and cherished by citizens across Skyrim. They've even gone so far as to establish a fan club for him.

Historically, there are many such cases of fast-paced, storytelling rhyming performed by bards across ancient practices. From flyting to Homer's Illiad, the style has been around for centuries.

To remove Yung Jiit from Keizaal Online is to set a very dangerous precedent. Music is a form of artistic expression. While it is not exactly 1:1 with material in Skyrim, neither is a vast majority of linguistics and common speech used in the server. By banning Yung Jiit, the platform would begin to frame a harsh standard of what 'is' and 'isn't' accurate within the world view. Language becomes moderated, experiences become tense, and the overall player base of Keizaal Online drives down exponentially.

Yung Jiit is a widely treasured and valued member of the Keizaal community and has many supporters, as this petition will make evident. He brings joy, fellowship, and togetherness that improves the experience of Keizaal immensely, and allowing him to continue engaging in that performance will only further increase player morale.
