Today this petition with over 93,000 signatures was delivered to Victorian Parliament. I want to thank Stuart Grimley and Derryn Hinch from the Justice Party for their support during this campaign.

I then met with our Attorney-General Jill Hennessey who has assured me that they are taking this issue very seriously. She shares the same sentiment that this behaviour cannot be tolerated and there is a lot of work right now being put into law reforms regarding violence against women.

I also met with our Shadow Attorney-General Edward O'Donohue. He has emailed the DPP regarding this issue and requested an appeal against the inadequate sentencing of Jackson Williams.

Stuart Grimley spoke about a new offence, a "grab and drag" law he wants to introduce, and will be putting a proposal through to our AG. This new law would fill the void between Common Assualt and Assault with Intent to Commit a Sexual Offence.

This new law can't come quickly enough. Today, news broke of another shocking "grab and drag" attempt against a Melbourne woman, in Hawthorne. The predator was again captured on CCTV - this time lowering a balaclava over his face before he attacked. Thankfully, the woman got away. But this guy is still out there.

This issue is too important not to get this right and you have my word that I'm not going anywhere. This is just the start. I will fight until I see the change. As I said today in my statement today to the media: I've done everything I can right now by getting this petition to Parliament. It's now on our leaders, those in power who can make the changes so desperately needed.
