Help Save Our East Newmarket Walmart!

We, the undersigned residents of Newmarket and surrounding communities, are calling on Walmart Canada to reconsider its decision to close the Walmart store located at 1111 Davis Drive, Unit 32, at 404 Town Centre Plaza in Newmarket, Ontario.

Although smaller than other Walmart locations, this store is an important and valued part of our community, particularly for residents living on the east side of Newmarket.

Many seniors depend on this location for their everyday shopping needs. For residents who do not drive or have mobility challenges, travelling across town to the Walmart on Yonge Street is not always practical or accessible.

This store is conveniently located along public transit routes, including York Region Transit and the Viva service along Davis Drive, making it an essential shopping destination for those who rely on public transportation.

For many residents, this is more than just a store. It is a familiar, accessible and convenient place to purchase everyday essentials without having to travel across town.

We are asking Walmart Canada to:
Reconsider the decision to close the 404 Town Centre Walmart location.
Recognize the importance of this store to seniors, residents with mobility challenges and those who rely on public transit.
Consider the impact this closure will have on residents and families living on the east side of Newmarket.
Explore alternatives that would allow this valued neighbourhood store to remain open.
