Dear Friends and Supporters, Yesterday, in order to avoid fines up to $1,000/day, we took our hoop house down. Our next step is to appeal the January 24th decision of the Elmhurst hearing officer in the DuPage County Appellate Court. You can watch the video on the attached YouTube link. We are not giving up. Once our appeal is complete (whether we win or lose), we will return to Elmhurst City Hall in an attempt to gain legislative protection for hoop houses & property rights in Elmhurst. This is not going to happen over night - so please stick with us. In the meantime, I am researching standard practices in municipalities around and in Chicago and the Midwest. So far, what I have found has been quite encouraging. The next time we go to Elmhurst City Council we will need to be prepared - so this is the time of preparation.
