The Issue

We, the undersigned residents and supporters of the Harrison community, respectfully urge the Mayor, Town Council, and Parks & Recreation Department to preserve the name of the Frank P. Sollazzo, Sr Recreation Center.

For over 58 years, this recreation center has proudly carried the name of Frank P. Sollazzo, Sr—a name that has become deeply woven into the fabric of our community. Generations of families have grown up visiting, playing, and building memories at this center, all under a name that represents commitment, community, and local history.

This is more than just a name on a building—it is a legacy. Changing it now would mean losing a meaningful connection to our past and the values that have shaped Harrison for decades.

We believe that preserving the name:

  • Honors over half a century of community history
  • Honors a meaningful legacy
  • Strengthens community pride and continuity

We respectfully ask that any effort to rename the recreation center be reconsidered, and that the name Frank P. Sollazzo, Sr Recreation Center remain in place.

Sign this petition to help protect a name that has stood for 58+ years in our community.
