Hello everyone,

To start, I want to thank everyone for such a tremendous amount of support. From signatures to offers for donations and sponsorships- It means the world to me! 

After I made my Facebook post, I got in contact with FOX19 Reporter Brenda Ordonez, who was generous enough to offer me an interview and share the story of the Makerspace. I was thrilled to get such an offer, alongside the rest of the Makerspace community, so I did an interview. 

The petition and story for the Makerspace are officially on FOX19. This is the attention we need to keep our creativity hub!

Outside of being on the news, the Milford High School Principal, Tyler Arnold (Dr. Arnold, as I'll further refer him as), reached out to me to talk about options for outside funding for the Makerspace. As of now, the Milford administration is looking into a grant. I'm currently trying to get in contact with businesses who've offered to sponsor us! While there's nothing permanent yet, we're seeing our options!

My deepest apologies for such a delayed update. I wanted FOX19 to cover the Makerspace's story first before I updated my petition! 

We have our foot in the door. There's a ton of hope to keep the Makerspace! Until we get a permanent solution, I won't mark this as a victory yet. While the Makerspace has a chance, anything could fall through. We'll keep our heads high.

Despite the upbringing, I will speak at the Milford Board of Education's meeting on May 16th. Even if we find a permanent solution for the Makerspace, I believe I need to address a few things outside of the Makerspace. Milford could always use a student speaker. 

On another note, Milford's page for the November 2023 Operation Levy has suddenly vanished. I quoted it back when I first wrote the petition, but since it's gone, I've updated the petition to read what I originally had alongside a new quote. The dead link is still there, but the revised quote has a new link with newer information from Milford. I'm unsure why the page is gone, and I don't want to speculate.

Thank you all so much for supporting the Makerspace! I will keep updating when I can about anything new or if anything permanent is put in. Until then, all signatures and offers are sincerely appreciated! I can't thank you all enough for the support!
