Dear Friends,

The first snow has fallen over Port McNicoll today, and we thought it was high-time for an update.

The onset of winter means that the ship cannot be moved until the ice thaws (likely mid-April), so we have some time to continue formulating a long-term strategy for keeping the vessel in Port McNicoll. We have been working with developers, governmental and non-governmental agencies, and community stakeholders on an ambitious plan - one which will appeal to potential investors and the Federal and Provincial governments.

It also seems as though Skyline Investments are liquidating their Canadian holdings: https://www.midlandtoday.ca/local-news/skyline-sells-horseshoe-resort-other-properties-in-210m-deal-4354095 This includes the Port McNicoll lands (in a separate deal), although it appears they will maintain control of the SS Keewatin for the time being.

Lastly, as the snow gets deeper, please feel free to remove your lawn signs and keep them safe over the winter months. This fight is far from over, and we may need them again come the Spring thaw!

On behalf of all the team at #KeepKeewatinHome, thank you for your continued support.

Dan T.
