Dear Friends,

On Saturday, August 28th at 2pm we are planning a Rally to Keep Keewatin Home at the S.S. Keewatin. We would love for you to join us. Please use the online ticketing provided by Eventbrite:

FAQ:

What is the event? It is time for us to show solidarity and tell the Minister of Canadian Heritage and Skyline Investments that we are united in our conviction that the SS Keewatin stays where its history lives - in Port McNicoll! This is a charity event for the Keep Keewatin Home Campaign.

What if there is inclement weather that day? This is, of course, an outdoor event. The rain date is scheduled for Sunday, Aug 29 at 2pm. An email will go out at least 24 hours in advance notifying attendees of a change.

What will happen at the event? 1.30-2pm entry; march on by the Midland Legion Pipes and Drums; speeches from MP Bruce Stanton, Mayor Ted Walker, Curator Fred Addis, Campaign Chair Dan Travers; entertainment, light refreshments, and cake; draw for the three limited edition memorabilia albums; 3pm-3.30pm rally concludes.

Why the $15 ticket price? The $15 helps us to cover costs of the event, but also helps to raise funds for the campaign; proceeds will be split between Keep Keewatin Home and Friends of Keewatin. Ticket purchasers will be automatically entered to win one of three limited edition Steel and Steam memorabilia albums.

What if I have already donated/can't afford the ticket price? Our supporters should never feel obligated to donate, or be excluded if they cannot make a donation. If you would like to request free tickets, please email us at keepkeewatinhome@gmail.com (note that free tickets are not eligible for one of the three prizes).

What are the safety precautions? The area will be roped off for ticket holders and chairs spaced to ensure social distancing. Masks are mandatory. There is a 100 person max attendance to comply with Stage 3 reopening rules, so make sure you get your tickets soon.

Max 2 tickets? What if I want more? We want to give all of our supporters the opportunity to book tickets. We are limiting each household to two tickets at this time.

Can I share this link with my friends? If you know of anyone who is a campaign supporter, you may email them the Eventbrite link.

We hope you can join us on the 28th!
