My personal journey within the Catholic Church has been heavily shaped and influenced by the Institute of Christ the King Sovereign Priest. Were it not for the profound reverence and sanctity I've experienced in the traditional Latin mass they conduct, I may have drifted away from the church. Likewise, many of my friends found their way to our faith, attracted by the Institute's absolute dedication to upholding the traditional rite. As such, the recent decision of the Catholic Bishop of the Oakland diocese to remove the Institute from Oakland is being deeply felt by us, the laity.

For the past two decades, the Institute of Christ the King Sovereign Priest has served our parish with kindness, zeal, and an unmatched spiritual dedication. During this time, our community has continued to blossom and thrive—testament to the strong spiritual foundation the Institute has helped create. Removing the Institute from our parish is not just a reshuffling of administrators - it represents a significant shift in the spiritual life of our community.

There is a deep need for the Catholic Bishop of the Oakland diocese to reconsider this decision to ensure that the spiritual growth and development of its laity continue to be nurtured in the same way it has been for years. We call upon the bishop to find it in his heart to maintain the presence of the Institute of Christ the King Sovereign Priest in the Oakland diocese.
