The IB Diploma Program started in the 2012-2013 school year at Walled Lake Western, about thirteen years ago. Recently, Walled Lake Schools announced that they're shutting down the IB Diploma Program and associated classes for the current sophomore class, and current juniors will be the last to be a part of that program.

The IB Diploma program has helped many students, including myself, in expanding their perspectives on many issues - such as race, government, politics, intergenerational relationships, pride, prejudice, and so on and so forth, allowing a unique alternative to standardized AP Testing. Teachers like Mrs. Luchin, Mrs. Chumney, and many more who I am forgetting to name help their students reach their fullest academic potential through courses like IB English and IB Environmental Systems and Societies, dedicating personal time and energy to ensuring their student's success.

I am asking you to consider signing this petition to keep the IB Diploma program as an option for students in Walled Lake Schools and oppose the decision of shutting the IB Diploma program down.
