Sophie Brown started this petition to Peter Dutton (Minister for Home Affairs) and

Recently, The Australian Government made a decision which could legitimately strangle the future of international live music touring in Australia as we know it. Immigration Minister Peter Dutton has announced a plan which could 'Stop The Tours' once and for all by raising Visa fees by 600 per cent starting next month. This decision is detrimental to the Australian Music Industry as a whole, affecting the artists, general public and also jobs within every sector of the industry including tourism and hospitality. Such decision, basically guarantees that a percentage of acts will opt out of touring 'down-under', as opposed to copping the financial blow of travelling here, on top of the already high travel costs involved with getting to Australia. Therefore, it is our responsibility to oppose and do something in an attempt to avoid this and show the government what is RIGHT!
