As your local Councillors we understand how our public transport is a lifeline to so many residents in Minnis Bay, Birchington. The proposed bus service, that would see only one bus per hour, is inadequate and severely restricts residents mobility. Many of us rely on this service for our daily activities - from grocery shopping to medical appointments and social engagements. Without a more regular, half hourly bus service through Minnis Bay, many residents are left stranded and unable to leave the area.

According to the Office for National Statistics (ONS), Birchington has an above-average percentage of elderly residents compared to the rest of England. This demographic particularly relies on public transportation for their independence and well-being.

We believe that keeping the current bus service would ensure we maintain residents quality of life by providing regular access to essential services and opportunities outside Minnis Bay.

We therefore, ask Stagecoach to review this issue urgently.
