Petition to Preserve the Clifford House Museum in Eustis, Florida

We, the undersigned, stand united in opposition to the proposed relocation of the Clifford House Museum from its historic and scenic location in Eustis, Florida.

The Clifford House, built in 1911, is a cornerstone of our town’s rich heritage. Nestled near the water in Ferran Park, its location is not only beautiful — it’s meaningful. The museum tells the story of Eustis, Lake County, and Central Florida’s past. To move it would be to erase part of our community’s soul.

📍 The setting of the Clifford House is not incidental — it is part of the historical experience.

🏛️ The museum serves as an educational and cultural treasure for residents, tourists, and future generations.

🏨 Replacing this beloved site with a commercial hotel would prioritize short-term profit over long-term value.

We respectfully urge city leaders, developers, and all decision-makers to:

➡️ Keep the Clifford House Museum in its current location.
➡️ Protect Eustis’ historical identity and green spaces.
➡️ Prioritize cultural preservation over commercial development.

Let’s choose legacy over luxury — and protect what makes Eustis special.
