After the horrifying fire in the Chatuchak animal market in Bangkok where thousands of animals died by suffocation and incineration after enduring a life of anguish confined to overcrowded cages we need to take action. A global action. Because animals don't have nationality nor the abuse and misery they withstand.

The animal market shouldn't be reopened.

Not only the life conditions were inadmissible but the lack of basic safety standards exposing them to a mass death that happened. It was a profitable space and having the owners of the space access to a hefty rent payment there was no interest in any basic improvement. Fire alarms or smoke detectors lacking let alone fire sprinklers. Flammable materials used. Lack of government intervention is of paramount importance here and an investigation about it needs to be requested. 

This isn't only a somber event for the animal world but for the entire humanity an event of shame and guilt.

So long, little buddies. Your days of captivity and mistreatment are behind you.
