Keep the Boob Bus in South Jordan!

Keep the Boob Bus in South Jordan!
The Issue
Rena Vanzo has been informed by South Jordan City (Utah) that parking a commercial vehicle on her personal property -- an essential aspect of her life-saving operation -- is a violation of the current city code. In a state such as Utah, which ranks among the lowest in the nation for women getting their mammograms, The Boob Bus is more than necessary. There are lives on the line here - and a ruling that allows for recreational RV parking but not for commercial RV parking doesn't seem to consider this.
Rena is a single mom and CEO who started "The Boob Bus" in honor of her late grandmother, a breast cancer survivor. This mobile mammogram service fights breast cancer by making check-ups more accessible and convenient for women, even adding a touch of fun to the process! Since its launch in February, The Boob Bus has served over 350 women across South Jordan and beyond, from Ogden to Richfield.
Rena has shown her commitment to fighting breast cancer and to The Boob Bus by obtaining her commercial drivers license, pouring concrete, and installing the proper fencing at her home to comply with RV parking regulations. However, she has hit a roadblock with the city's ruling against parking commercial vehicles over 8,000 pounds on residential properties. Her daily access to the bus is essential to the business. This includes ensuring the safety and security of the unit, keeping the medical instrumentation within a controlled temperature range, and critically, sending images regularly to the radiologists who finalize breast health reports. Any disruption to this process could delay life-saving information provided by screening mammograms.
We urge the South Jordan Planning Commission and City Council to reconsider this rule and to value health services like The Boob Bus. Let's help Rena continue her grandmother's legacy and play a significant role in improving breast cancer prevention in Utah. Join us in signing this petition and let's keep The Boob Bus based on Rena's property in South Jordan!
