Keep the 3m Diving Boards and add additional safety measures

The Issue

Colorado can't afford to lose another indoor pool with 3m diving boards.

It recently came to my attention that EPIC and the City of Fort Collins are considering removing the 3M Diving boards from EPIC. Nothing has been decided at this point however they seem to be leaning in that direction. Some consultants who reviewed EPIC pool have made the recommendation to remove the 3M board. As we all know diving boards are becoming scarce in Colorado and few pools have 3M boards anymore. The reason they want to remove the 3M boards is due to cost and safety. They have a problem with safety on the 3M "platform" that the boards sit on at EPIC. As you all know EPIC has been used for many dive meets including local, regional, and high school dive meets. Colorado can not afford to lose another diving facility.

There are safety measures that can be implemented to make the 3m boards safer. Please encourage EPIC and the City of Fort Collins to consider looking at additional safety measures instead of removing the boards.

We need to let them know how important keeping the 3m boards is. In addition to signing this petition please consider contacting Megan Greer at EPIC and let her know how you feel about keeping the 3M diving boards. Spread the word, so we can try and keep the 3M boards at EPIC.
