Keep the 312 Bus Route to Handforth Dean after Funding Cuts

Keep the 312 Bus Route to Handforth Dean after Funding Cuts
The Issue
Picture this: your friend with severe mobility issues, living right here in our community in the Lacey Green estate. Travel without assistance, such as taking a taxi, is a tremendous hurdle. This friend, along with many other disabled residents, depends on the 312 bus to reach Wilmslow, Handforth Dean and beyond for daily needs, social interaction, and especially for travelling into Manchester for essential medical care. The proposed funding cuts will terminate this service, stripping them of their lifeline to the outside world!
The 312 bus doesn't simply transport people from point A to point B. It serves as a vital link to the train station - a connection the alternate 130 bus does not offer. The nearest bus stop for the 130 bus from Lacey Green is a half mile away - a distance that might seem insignificant for some, but for many of our disabled neighbors, it's an insurmountable barrier. This change blatantly undermines the freedom and independence of our community's most vulnerable, impacting their quality of life and mental health!
We, the residents of Lacey Green, implore those in charge to reconsider and fund the 312. We must prioritize our fellow citizens' mobility and ensure that these essential travel links remain available, and not simply down to private developers or whether the council feels like they want to fund it. We cannot leave those with mobility issues stranded or reduced to infrequent and excessively expensive taxi rides. Let's rally together to prevent this from happening. Stand with your neighbors, friends, and family. Sign this petition to keep the 312 bus route going after the developer funding withdrawal!
We've challenged bus cuts before and gotten our buses back, AND WE'LL DO IT AGAIN!
