Why this petition matters

Started by Leon Pham

The sport that I am trying to petition is Tennis, specifically in the city of Frisco.

As I am writing this, the decision is being made to charge players and coaches to pay for public school courts. This August of 2022, this new regulation will come into effect.

Frisco ISD has planned to privatize most if not all tennis, making it a financial situation where coaches and players alike have to pay a fee to do what they have always done.

Who cares about connection, development, and education when profit and management is more important?

For the past 6 years, I have been playing tennis for my middle school team, then high school varsity as you can see by the (beautiful) photo, and ended up making a coaching program for kids impacted by COVID-19 on their development.

The truth is, the coaches that I know personally are there to help kids develop into outstanding young adults that go on to use their talents and maturity to keep the world going. We all have a part in helping, that was always the intention.

That is why I am here. I believe in freedom, guidance, and community, so I ask of you to sign my petition to protect the players in my city.

With your voice, you can help the tennis players of Frisco to request that the mayor intervene. None of us were given the option to choose this road, but with your help, I hope we can pave a new one.
