Finally after 8 years the Ten Commandments Monument was stealthily returned to the Assiniboine Park on Friday July 25, 2025!  The City of Winnipeg Councillors and the Mayor unanimously voted on Sep. 24th 2024 to have the Ten Commandments Monument (TCM) returned to the public forum.  The Executive Policy Committee (EPC) Recommendation (Sep. 17, 2024) stated that the TCM be displayed in public again, on any public land in the City, or any private land but accessible to the public or TMC returned to the Assiniboine Park. The Chief Administrative Officer (CAO) was delegated authority to work with the Assiniboine Park Conservancy (APC) to choose one of the previously mentioned three options.  In determining the appropriate location, the CAO would consider the original intention of the donor (The Fraternal order of Eagles Aerie #23 who wanted the TCM to remain in the Park), as well as other groups in the community (a petition of 1288 online + 282 paper = 1570 supports to "Keep the Ten Commandments Monument in the Assiniboine Park ") Thus a high majority of citizens who spoke out publicly, wanted the Monument returned to the Park! 

The organizer of the Petition would like to thank all the signers, the City of Winnipeg Councillors and the Mayor for their support to have this important Monument, displaying universal wisdom, returned to the Assiniboine Park.  Our City will be blessed by this decision.

Unfortunately the Monument is like "Where's Waldo?"  It is difficult for the public to find!  To find it go to the south east corner of the Park in the Grove Garden not far from the Leaf Botanical Garden.  When you first enter The Grove Tree Garden look on your extreme right and count down 4 park benches beside the wooded area.  The Ten Commandments Monument is beside the 4th park bench, almost but not quite in the forest.
