This week Audubon California hosted a meeting of experts and advocates who discussed the Building Industry petition to delist the Swainson's Hawk. The consensus was that indeed forty years of protection has benefitted the Swainson's Hawk and the population has grown. But not to a level that would justify delisting, and not to the level claimed by the BIA.
