Swainson's Hawk Supporters Unite -- via Petition

Jim Pachl, Vicki Lee and I formed Friends of the Swainson's Hawk in 1994 because we knew "citizens eyes-on" are an essential ingredient of protection.  We had to shine light on this threatened species to ensure that legal protections were implemented.   This has never been more true, with the legal protections for Swainson's Hawks directly under attack by the Building Industry, in an obscure governmental process, at a time when all environmental protections are at risk of being dismantled.  

The change.org platform gives us the opportunity to identify and communicate with folks who care. It means that supporters of hawk protection won't lose touch with this issue as the process drags on. It means at critical moments, we can ask for help from those who care.  So we urge you to help us grow this petition because it is a network of citizen protection for Swainson's Hawk in California.

To date we have 1,171 signers. Many of you have contributed financially over $2,000 to ensure that change.org continues to push this petition to likely signers.  This has resulted in about 15% of the signatures to date. About 45 percent of the signatures are coming from Facebook and Instagram posts, so please continue to post and share our posts to your networks.
