Why are builders trying to delist the Swainson's Hawk?
A friend reminded me the other day: there's only one reason why builders want to get the Swainson's Hawk delisted from the California Endangered Species list. They want to build on farmland.
So opposing the delisting protects farmland from being converted to urban uses and helps contain urban development to existing city limits.
Which is good land use policy.
I am curious how far this petition can go. We are on our way to one thousand signatures. Signers have contributed over $1,000 to change.org to promote the petition through their algorithm.
