It is an established fact that Surrey has long needed it's own municipal police force. The new mayor elected wants to disband it, which would cost the city's taxpayers more than $150 million, while retaining the outdated, ineffective system. An all-party committee of B.C. MLAs already calling on the province to get rid of the RCMP. We need our own Surrey police to keep this city safe.
