Stonehouse Park is a beautiful, peaceful campground located in southern DeKalb County, Illinois. The park has hosted many events over the years including medieval reinactments, air soft games, WWII reinactments, music festivals, and many others.

Concerned neighbors are trying to get the park shut down. Complaints include lost event goers asking directions (an issue easily rectified by errecting better signage) and loud music throughout the night (this is addressed in the amended permit) during events. The Sheriff's department has also expressed concerns about their ability to perform their duties; however, the park does employ security (including off-duty police officers) at events.

The proposed amendment (and future revisions to said amendment) can address these concerns. Instead, the DeKalb County Planning and Zoning committee would rather see the permit denied. If denied, the park could immediately revert to agricultural zoning, which would have marginal benefits for the community and county. Inversely, if allowed to continue, Stonehouse Park can bring outside revenue, jobs, music, arts, and culture to the area.

Please sign this petition if you believe that Stonehouse Park should continue to operate and that the DeKalb County Board should approve the amendment to Stonehouse RV Park special use permit.
